NF:
An individual must complete a training program and competency evaluation approved by DADS before it lists the individual on the nurse aide registry. (Letter)
HCS and TxHmL:
The legislature requires DADS and the Board of Nursing to conduct a pilot program to evaluate LVNs who provide on-call services by telephone to individuals receiving services in the HCS or TxHmL programs. As part of the program’s evaluation, DADS will review a random sample of documentation regarding your provision of nursing services by telephone to individuals. (Letter).
ICFs/IID with a Capacity of 13 or Fewer Beds:
The legislature requires DADS and the Board of Nursing to conduct a pilot program to evaluate LVNs who provide on-call services by telephone to individuals receiving services in an ICF/IID with a capacity of 13 or fewer beds. As part of the program’s evaluation, DADS will review a random sample of documentation regarding the provider’s provision of nursing services by telephone to individuals. (Letter)
