- Citizens and providers may turn in unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs at “Operation Got Drugs II,” to be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 10-2 p.m. Follow this link to search for a list of collection sites.

- HHSC proposed to amend §98.42, concerning safety, in Subchapter C, Facility Construction Procedures, and new §98.64, concerning emergency preparedness and response, in Subchapter D, Licensure and Program Requirements, in Chapter 98, Adult Day Care and Day Activity and Health Services Requirements, to facilitate disaster preparedness. - HHSC proposed to amend §97.256, concerning emergency preparedness planning and implementation, and §97.602, concerning administrative penalties, in Chapter 97, Licensing Standards for HCSSAs, to facilitate disaster preparedness. For more information, see the proposed changes here.
- DADS has corrected an issue that involved discharged resident information improperly displaying on the CASPER MDS 3.0 Roster and the MDS 3.0 Missing Assessment reports. An enhanced version of the report is available in the MDS 3.0 NH Provider report category in the CASPER Reporting application.
- The MDS jRAVEN software was updated to version 1.1.1 on April 5, 2011.
- A DADS Region 4/5 HCSSA Provider Meeting is scheduled for May 25, 2011 in Tyler, Texas, to encourage open communication between home health, hospice, and PAS agencies, and HCSSA staff members. Registration deadline is May 6, 2011. You may register here.
