Public Hearing
HHSC will hold a public hearing on September 1, 2009, at 9 a.m. to receive public comment on proposed rates for HCS, TxHmL, and CWP waiver programs, in the Lone Star Conference room. This information is found beginning on page 8 of this file.
Proposed Rules
HHSC proposes to amend §354.1149, relating to Medicaid benefit exclusions and limitations, to add adult preventive services as a benefit for all eligible adults and to reflect current HHSC policies and procedures regarding a number of other Medicaid benefit exclusions and limitations. The agency will hold a public hearing August 20, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the John H.Winters Building, Public Hearing Room, 125-E, at 701 W. 51st Street, Austin, Texas. HHSC proposes to add new §355.9060, Reimbursement Methodology for the Youth Empowerment Services Waiver Program, to Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 355, Subchapter M, Division 4, Reimbursement Methodology for the Youth Empowerment Services Waiver Program, to implement a pilot program to provide certain services to children and adolescents in Bexar and Travis counties.

Adopted Rules
HHSC adopted the repeal of Chapter 358, Medicaid Eligibility and adopts a new Chapter 358, Medicaid Eligibility for the Elderly and People with Disabilities, which will allow for a complete rewrite of Chapter 358. Among other things, new rules will update agency names and rule cross-references made obsolete during the consolidation of health and human services agencies in 2004. The Texas Board of Nursing adopted the repeal of Chapter 216, §§216.1 -216.11, concerning Continuing Education, because the Board simultaneously adopted of a new chapter that promotes a comprehensive approach to continuing competency in nursing.
