The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) has issued five information letters:
- Submission of the Resident Transaction Notice Form 3618 and Medicare/SNF Patient Transaction Notice Form 3619
In a letter to Medicare Nursing Facility Providers, DADS reminded these providers about the requirement and the steps to complete the process when submitting Form 3618 and Form 3619 for Medicaid or Medicare eligible recipients, applicants for medical assistance or Medicaid recipients being discharged from facilities. - Integrated Care Management (ICM) 1915(c) Waiver Rules, Adaptive Aids, Minor Home Modification and Medical Supplies Processes
DADS clarified the processes for obtaining adaptive aids, medical supplies and minor home modifications under ICM 1915(c) waiver services and highlighted differences between ICM and Community Based Alternatives rules. Download the four-page letter for more information.
- Waiver Claims Payment Processing Date Changes Due to Holiday
DADS informed Home and Community-Based Services Program Providers and Texas Home Living Program Providers that claims payment processing will not occur on Friday, July 4, 2008, because of the national holiday and state office closures. See the letter for details.
- July 1, 2008 Implementation of Overnight Companion Services (OCS)
DADS informed Home and Community Support Services Agency and Community Based Alternatives Providers in Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy Counties about the implementation of OCS. An excerpt:
On April 25, 2008, DADS published Information Letter 08-58 regarding a new CBA demonstration service, OCS, which will be offered annually to up to 20 participants relocating from institutional to community living through the new Money Follows the Person Demonstration. OCS provide 8-12 consecutive hours of direct support and assistance in the individual’s home during normal sleeping hours. The companion is not required to remain awake, but must be able to be awakened and provide assistance when needed.

- New Service Codes for Consumer Directed Services Agencies (CDSAs) Respite for the Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS) Program
DADS informed CDSAs for the CLASS Program that it revised Form 3621 (Individual Service Plan (ISP)) and Form 3621-T (ISP Service Delivery Transfer Worksheet) to reflect changes to the respite service codes for individuals participating in the CDS option. The new CDS respite services codes are:
– Respite In-Home (11PV) Bill Code G0197
– Respite Out-of-Home (11AV) Bill Code G0196
